A while back, a friend told me that thom yorke was big into heroin
After reading quotes from the band members, they don't seem too much into the drug thing.
You guys think they're crackheads?

Im not sure about the bands take on drugs.
Once, me and two friends got this enormous 50-75 lbs concrete mushroom we stole from someoens yard in Florida (sorry if it was yours). Then we decided to each paint their own mushrooms while completely sideways on mushrooms, while listening to our album of choice. I picked Kid A, to paint to, which sent me into painting some of the most visual shit ever, my mushroom still kicks ass to this day, ill try to [post a pic if i can find one, but even if the band is anti-drugs, they are still great to trip to.

I don't think they're much into drugs. They read a lot. Psychedelics maybe; heroin, surely not.

i remember back in the day on the radiohead message boards there being a huge argument over smoking weed at radiohead shows, people complaning about getting second hand stoned and all, ah, good times..

there was one quite i found from thom saying that if the band did hard drugs they'd turn into bryan adams
and i found another one from johhny that said he 'was on drugs one night' and called the manager to talk him down to reality
so i guess they're really not that into them.. although weed... well.. that doesn't count

Thom Yorke has definitely said he's not into drugs. Don't know if any of the rest of them them smoke or anything though.

ive read a lot about this through interviews and such and im almost certain thom is not into drugs, more so psychedelics or hard shit. as for the rest of them.. well that may be different. i have read that the guitarist liked shrooms and some others may as well. don't know much else other than that.

All I know for sure is Ed like weed. The rest have probably used weed/psychedelics as much as any musicians. No Heroin or coke or harder stuff or addictions, as far as I know.

So, then the question is does Thom have experience with psychedelics, not does he still use them. Maybe he tripped for a while and thats how he decided it wasn't for him.
Because, on The Bends, they thank Mr. Bill Hicks, and I would think that any musician who thanks mr. hicks would be psychedelic.
Also, isn't the lyrics to that song the bends about coming up to fast on tripping? I sorta thought so.

Rubbish.. Radiohead is the only rockband that's been around over 10 years tha continues to break new ground and make awesome album after awesome album.. they're talent should not be overlooked.
Depressing? I find their music Optimistic.. hence the name of that one song..
I'll never get tired of radiohead... and i've done E about 30 times

I've always thought "Subterranean Homesick Alien" was about mushrooms. Listening to Kid A, it's hard to imagine completely sober people making music like that.
The breath of the morning I keep forgetting The smell of the warm summer air
I live in a town Where you can't smell a thing You watch your feet For cracks in the pavement
Up above Aliens hover Making home movies For the folks back home
Of all these weird creatures Who lock up their spirits Drill holes in themselves And live for their secrets
They're all uptight Uptight..
I wish that they'd swoop down in a country lane Late at night when I'm driving Take me on board their beautiful ship Show me the world as I'd love to see it
I'd tell all my friends But they'd never believe They'd think that I'd finally lost it completely
I'd show them the stars And the meaning of life They'd shut me away But I'd be all right All right..
I'm just uptight Uptight..
