Horse shit has a superior texture to cow shit. Not only that, but it seems to perform better indoors by a longshot. Work with horseshit at a 25% spawn/poo ratio and watch it eat through like there's no tomorrow, it's really something to witness:

Horse shit is a little diffrent from cow shit. Cows will eat just about any hay or grass down to a nubb. Horses on the other hand are a lot morte particular in thier diet. They will tend to only eat the tops of the barly and wheat plants theirfor consuming a diet with more grains. And this means better texture and composition as well as a more nutrious diet for the myc.

Donkey is so close to horse shit you can't tell a difference.(same diet, almost identical digestive system)  Donkey shit is just as good

Not only that, but the digestive systems are drastically different.  Cows have four stomachs, where horses only have one.. cow shit is more digested, which makes it more dense and stinky.  :poop:  Horse poo is much better, imho.

nope. Fungus are Fungus when it comes to things like that. They get the same thing they need from grain, from poo. All poo is anyways is broken down grains (barley, wheat, grasses and such).

I have heard that using horse shit is better. But how much better? And what difference would it make? I have a friend with a barn full of cow shit. And another friend with a barn full of horse shit. It has been sitting there for a while in both cases, so I guess it's aged. What should I do? Use horse? or Cow? I want as much mushrooms as I can possibly get.

Use the horse poo.

Horse poo is better than cow manure...IMHO

A barn full of horse poo is worth its weight in shrooms...or is that gold?

All I can say is -

OMFG - horse shit rules... Never had a chance to use primo shit in the 10 years Ive been growing, but AFOAF did buy tennesee stud horse poo.

It eats it up faster than grains. I swear to god, like almost a 100% after 4-5 days. I wouldnt have believed it had I not seen it myself.

Is it better to crush up the horse poo or leave it chunky like in diver's first pic?

shroomguy, try pickin up some oven bags from a grocery store and prehydrating and mixing your shit/straw, then spawn at about 25% ratio in your bulk bin for what i think is minimum air and surface contact, then cover incubate and fruit, GL

Horse shit is best hands down. Cow shit is dense and muddy. Horse shit is fibrous and has a really nice texture.
