fruited to early???
    #3950073 - 03/21/05 06:49 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

This is the first time i've had problems getting primordia to form uniformly across my cassing. my casing is peat and verm. and i let it colonize as usual. I patched my casing when i started to see some myc. growth and then cold shocked it. I brought it back up to fruiting temps. and its been this way for 6 days now. I can see some some knotting happening in a very small section of 1 tray. the other trays im disapoointed to say look barren.

my casing is about 1.5 inches thick with 6 to 8 inches uf straw substrate. Is it possible that the mycelium is knotting up below the surface and things are ok? Or (this sucks) are things not going well.

I'm prepared to wait it out some more but i've never had this happen.
what would happen if i brought it back up to incubation temps 84F and kept it there till i see more myc. on the surface and then tried to fruit it again???

Wow, with a casing that thick, I'm not surprised. You should use 1/4 of the depth as a guideline. I'd never go over an inch.

Turn your closet into a fruiting chamber

so scat any sugestions on what i should do with this? wait it out at fruiting temp and hope for the best; incubate again and wait for more myc and fruit again; or scrape to the substrate and start over?
