AFOAF is having the weirdest mutants. I wish I could afford a digi-cam... but being on an old mac would make it hard to transfer anyway.

Strangely only ONE of many cakes is affected. The rest are perfectly normal. What do they look like, you ask?

Some of the mushrooms have NO STEMS, it is just a really really weird cap. The cap kind of looks like two or three caps fused together in a spherical shape.

I almost thought it was some other kind of mushroom that had invaded, but they turn blue when cut in half...

Most of the mutation is happening on the caps, very weird twisted shapes with an odd spongy appearance. Its like if the cap were rubber and you twisted it as much as possible... into a dense ball.

Has anyone else exerienced this kind of mutation? Any idea what triggers it?

what kinda strain are you growing?

those are some fucked up sounding mutants.... but mutants are fuckin weird anyway so i cant tell you for sure without a picture. the blueing indicates its safe, but other types of mushrooms bruise as well.

dont wanna make you paranoid or anything, you're probably alright. that sounds nuts.

I saw your mutant, this was more of a directional mutant IMO.

The strain my friend is using is B+.

These ones are quite strange, paticularly the ones with no stems. As I said I thought these were initially some other kind of mushroom.
