i wouldn't recommend it, try using a tyvek (or plyfill, both cheap or free) filter and then, once puntured by inoc'ing, rubber band a coffee filter over the lid for added protection

those usps priority envolopes are made out of tyvek right? or are they cardbord. i'm thinking of the ones that are about 8 1/2" x 11

there are ones made of both cardboard and tyvek that size. just goto the post office and ask for a tyvek envelope for priority mail.
