contamination out of the PC

someone i know tried a popcorn tek a couple months ago, but for some reason 8 out of 10 contamed before any inoculation occured...there was a few days after pulling from the cooker before i went to inoculate...they were contaimed with a nice green furry substance...
i was using polyfill for the air exchange at the time...was that the issue?
i pced em for a little over an hour ...

It could be, but it's hard to tell for sure. Do you pre soak the popcorn, can you describe your sterilization procedure a little better ?
You can also try changing the popcorn brand or using another kind of grain.
