I have XP
every few minutes a little balloon pops up by my time saying my disk space is low and to click it to delete files that need to be deleted...
so i click it and it takes me to the 'disc cleanup'... first it takes ffoooorreevverrr (like 45 minutes) to even complete the first step where it takes you to the window that has the check marks by the folders it's going to delete and how much space they'll free up
so i click 'ok' to delete them all and it never completes. the little bar get only 1 maybe two lines then it just sits there.
I've left it like that on thursday morning and not even touched my comp until sunday night and it's still just 1 bar full and when i hit alt+ctrl+del it says 'not responding' in task manager.
any help with this?
I really need to clear out these files
thanks

I hate to say it, but I had this problem when my computer was new. It just went away all of a sudden.
I think it went away when the downloaded updates patched the gliche. Either way it sucked, I remember deleting files and waiting for ever and finally conceding and pushing the power button.
Go get your updates and it will probably stop. updates

I know, so did mine, but I kid you not all of a sudden it just started working...out of nowhere!
I really don't know what fixed it, but it went away with time. Thats why I think it was the updates. This is in no way professional advice, wait for other responses.

Are you actually low on hard disk space? All the wizard does is delete the IE cache and empty the recycle bin as well as clear out a few temporary files. If you are low on space I suggest you go remove some programs and delete some files. That wizard is all but useless anyway.

Yeah just go to "add or remove programs" in the control panel and delete programs you dont need.

Are you using FAT32 or NTFS?
If your using NTFS right click on your hard drive and select properties, tick the box that says compress drive to save disk space and apply it.
That should sort out your low disk problem if you are using NTFS.
Also make sure your anti spyware softwares up to date, that shit can totaly screw your PC.
