allright I know weather questions are frowned on here, and I'm far from a noob, but I have a quick question regarding weather conditions. Ok well Texas weather is something else, last week we were in the 80's and pretty dry, before that it was freezing and rainy(for like a month, I think they said on the news that There were only 2 days of sun in FEB.), anyways when It warmed up I found my first few cubes(yay for me only took the better part of two years!), but it dried out. Now we have rain again but its back in teh 40's. The feild I have is a long way away, and I would rather not waste gas money on the trip unless there is a pretty good chance of finding something. wednesday is supposed to be in teh 40's all day and night. the high on Thursday is supposed to be in teh 70s. I am thinking about going out during that thursday night, but is one day of 60's and 70's enough to bring out a flush after so much cold? or would I be better off waiting until the next rain? Peace

Forcasting weather in Texas is impossible. It has been proven that Texas has one of the strangest weather patterns in all the northern hemisphere, and can not possibly be predicted.
I always go out every day, with a rain suite, a sweater, some shorts, and snow plow because know body knows what the fuck is going on out here!

Remember that it normally takes from four to six weeks for the mushrooms to fruit adfter the manure has decomposed. So not all fields, as noted previously here over and over by me and others, have musrhooms inthe maure just because of the rain. And cattle are often moved from one grazing paddock to another as t he grass gets eaten and then brought back to their original fields weeks or months later. Sking about thwe weather does not help you in collecting mushrooms just because of the rain. There are many other environmental contiditons which also contribute to their fruiting.
Good luck and have a shroomy day,
mj
