I'de say you've got one luck dog and one careless owner. I would take him to the vet if anything looks like it is going wrong, but other than that just keep an eye on him. And next time be more cautious.

It's not MY DOG nor are they MY mushrooms I'm at my friends house and his dog looks ok he's just trippin and drinking lots of water I hope he's ok and I asked him the same thing he said that the dog jumped on his bed where they were and ate them. I know it's careless but I figured this would be the best place to ask to help him out ... thanks for the responses I and my friend appreciate them.

It's a yorkshire terrier weighing only 17 pounds, so it may be more than a level 5.

He took them about 10 minutes to 2. When I was feeding him dog buscuits I put them on the floor then picked them up to play with himand he was looking all over the floor for them ... kinda cute but anyway he seems like he's ok ... he's a very old pup, and I dont think he has much time left anyhow so hopefully he's enjoying his experience.

shrooms do not affect most lower animals in the least, or so I'm told. my neighbor's cat grows them just so she can get me to open cans of tuna for her, as cats have difficulty there. she has told me that they don't do a thing to her.

Now i remember a similar post where everyone flamed the shit out of the dog owner...:-) If you read some of Albert Hoffman's writings on LSD and Psilocybine, I think he mentions that fact that certain areas of the human brain that are most active when tripping are the parts that make us distinctly human However - did you guys ever see those spider webs from spiders on Mescaline and Lysergic Acid - they were trippen' hard www.shaman-australis.com/shroom/Edited by bluemeanie on 09/15/01 01:53 AM.

how big is this dog??? once before we were about to eat some shrooms we got a crazy thought to give my friends 15 lb miniature pincher some!!! well, we only gave a 1.5 inch stem but i think that he was trippen!!! i was under the influence also so i couldnt tell, but he acted different. i also noticed that he is extremely pitiful since his territory is a little tan carpet and he sometimes shits in the bathroom (not in the toilet) because hes too lazy to walk down the hallway to the front-porch. he is also too fat to lick his nuts, and his nuts got cut off so he has no balls!!!! i think youre dog will be alright. i sure as hell thought that he was tripping, but my friend said that he heard somewhere that the psilocybin is like a self defense mechanism and all it does is tells the dogs brain not to eat them anymore. and i dont think that a dogs mind is smart enough to be able to trip out anyways.
one plus one plus one equals three

Well it's been almost a day now my friend's dog is finally ok, for the first couple hours he was fine until we tried to wake him up and he kept on falling to the floor and he got all scared so I figured the best thing to do was leave him to sleep because that's what he was doing before we woke him up. So we let him sleep then woke him 8 hours later, we gave him some water but even then he still couldn't stand, and he was really scared in the light, his normally perky ears were so droopy and he couldn't really walk at all but we let him out to go pee (he needed assistance out the door and all but he managed) then we decided that he was getting better and to leave him on the bed sleeping for a while more. It's now 7am and he's very perky like normal but still a little bit shakey. Let me say this, I wish this upon no animals as they dont have a choice in the matter and they dont understand what they are doing, and I'm sure my friend will be much more responsible in the future. It's a very scary experience not only for the animal but for the owner of the animal. I know most of you already are responsible but just to make sure, never ever leave your munchies out especially if there's an animal or child in the house. Most adult humans would find a 5.5 gram trip way too intense, let alont a 10-15 pound dog!! Remember this post everyone, with this crazy world and everything that's going on you need friends like your pets, because they're the best friend you'll ever have. Thank you for all your responses!

I dunno if my math is right, but I come up with that being equivilent to a average sized human being eating 2 oz. of shrooms. I know know human who could handle that.

Are you finding any changes in your dog's behavior since his trip. For instance, when you throw a frisbee that he formerly would have chased, does he instead tilt his head to the side and look with glazed eyes at the swirled patterns of an odd cheetoh laying in the grass emblazoned by a random sunbeam?
