Some more irritating questions if you all wouldn't mind-  :crazy:

1. Should I roll my cakes in dry vermiculite or damp vermiculite or does it really matter?

2. How does rolling your cakes increase the pinning amount?

3. Do I really need to air exchange my growing chamber wile the cakes are waiting to produce pins? I don't see no need to as the cakes have no mushrooms producing yet.

Roll it in dry verm after dunking so it sticks...then spray with water.

This technique creates a mini casing layer that provides extra moisture

Good air exchange will really help develope healthy and plentiful pins.

Kron covered the first two...a little more in depth on:

Mushrooms have three triggers that tell them when they are above ground and its time to pin. First is temperature drop. Thats least important but a good 10 degree temp drop is always good. Second is light. Some may say this is least important but I fruit at low 80's al day long.. Couldnt do it without a few nice flouros. And third, and definatly most important is fresh air. In nature when they get above ground, there is wind and abundant fresh air. Thats how they know its time to pin.

Use distilled water if you have it, tap works (thats what I use) with a small splash of h202 in it (about 20:1 ratio).

That works too... I've found a little less does a little better, but thats my setup.

Either will work.

Fully colonized cakes are tanks. Only a small fraction of them will fail before two healthy flushes regardless of the peroxide ratio
