Do I really have to toss these out?

My mushrooms are growing fine for the most part. I've got an ultrasonic humidifier hooked up to a few jars, a germicidal UV light shining through them, then the humid air is piped into a big Rubbermaid container. The cakes are just brown rice flour and vermiculite.
Anyway, I've got around three big 'shrooms grown. Problem is, they're covered in blue spots! It doesn't appear to be mold, but i't's pretty unnerving. It looks like it's just been bruised all over, like someone's been poking it with a pin. The spots are around 1 mm in diameter.
Is this just, water droplets bruising it or something? The chamber stays at around 85-90% humidity...

It could be due to the radiation? Why would you expose jars to a bulk thats specifically designed for killing mold/fungus...thats what your trying to grow. A specific fungus sure, but germicidal bulbs will kill it all, or likly fuck some shit up.
A picture would really helps...if its bruising I'd say theyre ok...but maybe just mold starting out? Sounds wierd..

Is the UV light over the cakes themselves?
I think scatman has it right on the mark, In my experience cakse are extremely resistant to contams anyways, as long as you use common sense.

Well Newbie never posted back on the bulb...but another thought came to mind today...if you misted with a heavy peroxide mix...that could cause bluing to form like dots all over the mushrooms.

No, the light is not shining on the cakes themselves. I have more sense than that
And no disinfectants have actually come into contact with the cakes. There may be some dual-quat vapor in the air, but I doubt that would be causing it, would it?

Just misting pins causes the bruises you're seeing. Most misters spit out a few large drops from time to time, and these are what's bruising your fruits. Aim the mister at the walls of your grow area and avoid the fruit.
