I just can't seem to hold it down long enough. Twice now I've endured holding it down for an hour, and only have gotten tantalizing trips. I would start to trip and then, around the hour mark, blam! Couldn't take it any longer. My other roomate that grueled it out longer got a full blown death experience, beings coming out of the wall. I've made syrian rue extract which has greatly helped. But the mimosa bark tincture is the worst. I've tried letting it cold distill so all the sludge (after filtering through a shirt, I've tried coffee filters but the stuff WILL NOT strain through it) settled to the bottom which I removed. I managed to get a mostly clear, dark red brew, but it's still gritty and bitter as hell. And it still seems that when I puke it up I puke up bark fibers even though none are visible.

Is there anything else I can do to help me get through and hold the brew down?
I'm almost to the point to looking into an extraction except I don't want a bunch of dangerous chemicals lying around.

Well, I suggest ginger. Eat some candied ginger a half hour before drinking your brew.
Beyond that, maybe you should try psychotria leaves instead of mimosa bark, you might just be having a reaction to the root bark.
This is just my conjecture, I've yet to brew up my root bark or caapi vine. I'm actually a little intimidated by the purging aspect of it. I'll have to be sure to have a couple little joints rolled up.

Allright, sounds like good advice, I've had more problems with mimosa than I had with cacti.
