is gypsum an effective replacement for Oystershell in casing mix?

I got this bag of gypsum,and i'm not quite sure what to do with it

No. Gypsum is used as an ingredient of mushrom compost and at perparing grain spawn.

If you have a homebrew shop,you should be able to purchase gypsum there.

you can also get it at gardening stores near the soil supplements (lime, etc.)

I use about a gram of gypsum for my pint jars of birdseed ...... per jar....
