well wat do u think, i think its about life, that all i got. and how in life, either ur on top or getting "rained on".

Aerials
Life is a waterfall,
We're one in the river,
And one again after the fall.

Swimming through the void
We hear the word,
We lost ourselves,
But we find it all?

Cause we are the ones that want to play,
Always want to go,
But you never want to stay,

And we are the ones that want to chose,
Always want to play,
But you never want to lose.

Aerials, in the sky,
When you lose small mind,
You free your life.

Life is a waterfall,
We drink from the river,
Then we turn around and put up our walls.

Swimming through the void
We hear the word,
We lost ourselves,
But we find it all?

Cause we are the ones that want to play,
Always want to go,
But you never want to stay,

And we are the ones that want to chose,
Always want to play,
But you never want to lose.

Aerials, in the sky,
When you lose small mind,
You free your life.
Aerials, so up high,
When you free your eyes,
Eternal prize.
Aerials, in the sky,
When you lose small mind,
You free your life.
Aerials, so up high,
When you free your eyes,
Eternal prize.

well wat do u think, i think its about life, that all i got. and how in life, either ur on top or getting "rained on".

OK, I can do you one better then an interpretation. I can tell you what it actually means. This is going to be out of order, because some of the stuff in the middle needs explaining first.

I think the "we drink from the river and turn around and put up our walls" means that we take some certain experiences and use them to define how we see the rest of our experiences. In other words, we let a small taste of life, from memories, traditions, and conditioned responses, isolate ourselves from the entirety of it all.

"Swimming through the void
We hear the word,
We lost ourselves,
But we find it all?"

OK, to understand this you have to have an elementary understanding of the mystical experience. When researchers put together features common to mystical experiences, communication with a divine creative force (the logos), ego death, perception of the underlying unity of all things, timelessness, ineffiability of the experience, a transcendence of dualistic thinking, etc come up. SOAD is talking about a mystical experience here. This may or may not be drug induced. By letting go of the walls we build from our small taste of life, we can jump in, so to speak, where we will hear the logos, experience ego loss, and discover the underlying unity of all things. SOAD advocates losing psychological walls to do this.

Now, we can approach the beginning of the song. The underlying unity of all things is stressed in the first three lines. Our physical lives are a waterfall, we existed before them, and will exist after them (Compare, buddhist concept of original face). The ending is about the same thing. When you lose your small mind, and look at the big picture, you reach that timeless state of religious enlightenment.

(ETA: missed these:
"Cause we are the ones that want to play,
Always want to go,
But you never want to stay,

And we are the ones that want to chose,
Always want to play,
But you never want to lose."

This is about a different aspect of the same thing. Always want to go, never want to stay, compare, say, be here now. Expectations, say about losing etc, are part of the walls that need to come down. I'm less certain about the detail of how these should be interpeted.)
