The end will never come according to revelations...
    #3936514 - 03/18/05 06:27 PM (11 years, 8 months ago)

I was sitting here the other night thinking about this. I can't remember the exact verse, so please forgive me if I am wrong.
The bible says that when the end of the world is at hand everyone will have heard of Jesus Christ.
This can't happen as there are babies born everyday. So how are these millions of babies per day going to hear of Jesus? And even if the doctor stands over them after cutting the ambilical cord reading the bible, can this child make a rational decision about a language it hasn't learned yet?
I mean I could go more in depth, but that's why I am making this post, to hear other people's opinions.
So does anyone think that it's even remotely possible that there will be a point in time that everyone has heard the gospel?

It is said that everyone will know when Jesus comes because it will be so obvious, so nobody would be able to point and say, here is Jesus or there is Jesus.

That sounds either like a metaphorical Jesus, or some catastrophe, or alien invasion.

Any way, it is clearly stated in the Bible that he will not
come as a man, like the first time.

Jesus was a man, "the first time"....    If Jesus walked right past you on the street, how would you know....?

Think about that....

Well, concerning Jesus's Image. We have no actual accounts about how he looks. Beyond hearsay and speculation, nothing was crafted at the time of his lifetime which describes his image.

We have several speculations in regards to his skin tone, from light brown to european white. So if he was walking done the street, You might have already seen him, it all depends on what ascribed image you give him.

I do not give him an image, I have not met or spoke with Jesus face to face - that I know of....  I would imagine that he could be virtually anyone....    Any presumptions on my part would be just that, to which I would not do....

I can tell you, if I was to meet him, his identity would be of his choosing to announce - IF he so chose....  And either way, I would still walk along side of him if he was to do good for the people of the world thru positive intentions and actions for the betterment of mankind....  No matter who that person might be appear to be....  As he would be serving a greater cause - just as my new re-born self....  And that cause would be GOD....

I'd bet he was bald and had a gray skintone, well at least in privacy of his own tent :tongue2:

anyway, when I picture Jesus in my head, I use some of the actors that played him. Usually the guy from King of Kings, or that short guy from J.C.superstar the movie.
both are pretty far from what Jesus could have looked like

This is an artist's concept of what he thinks Jesus might have looked like.

Perhaps he has already returned, in the from of LSD....(I've already suggested this, but I figured I'd throw it in here too.)

well, people have achieved similar experience for thousands of years with other drugs, so while LSD is a nice new addition, it isn't making any heavens come down.

Maybe Jesus is whatever we choose to believe he is!!!

Revelation: 3:21
Jesus is a filament of your imagination.

(I say filament for a reason )

It seems that for a lot of things in the bible there are more meanings, even for the word god. Even Jesus used himself as a metaphore sometimes.
