quiting weed
    #3935159 - 03/18/05 12:38 PM (12 years, 8 months ago)

so many people struggling with weed psychological addiction that I thought it might be useful to contribute with my personal experience.

for around 3 years I smoked on a daily basis.
on weekends things would really go up the roof, smoking lots and lots.

I only stopped the moment I couldn't get it.

the first days are terrible. depression sets in, etc...

but what really started making a change was the shrooms. the experiences on shrooms were a lot more interesting, complex, meaningful. so weed started to be less and less important for me.
ok. until I didn't have it again. then I realized weed played a minor but important role and the key was to control and not exceed. so I started smoking every two days. one day I smoke, the next I don't, so on and so forth. the great thing about this method is that if you feel lousy on a non-smoking day you can always think the following day is just around the corner. oh, and I only smoke at night, usually starting after dinner. except on weekends. nothing like a joint on a sunday/saturday morning...

anyway as far as depression is concerned what I recommend is banisteriopsis caapi alone or preferably with some shrooms, it works wonders (careful this is a MAOI) and many times more than doubles shroom effect.

final word on weed, i think it is a very special plant. mckenna called it our daily bread, well I don't recommend daily usage, but many times I called it spiritual healer. I think it can have a place in our lives without obfuscating life itself. we need to be moderate and wise.

pay special attention to nutrition, exercise and meditation.

you get better results on healthy body and mind.

peace you all!

As someone who is trying to lower her pot usage, I found your advice very valuable.  I agree with what you say.  I'm not trying to quit per say, but just learn how to moderate myself so that I don't go overboard on the weed and start neglecting other facets of my life.

Thanks for the tips.

Read my post "Lungs.", When I quit my daily usage, insomnia is a big issue. But as soon as I felt a pain in my lungs, there was noway I could morally continue smoking. Good Luck, im vaping now.

 I have had to quit weed and everything since I am going to AA, one thing I have noticed is the clarity. I'm not sure about the weed since I had a drinking prob, but I had to quit it all for now.

I will try to smoke herb down the road someday, but best advice I can give is go with moderation. Weed is nothing compared to the addiction to alcohol.
