Even though the U.S.A is big brother, do you really think we "deserve" this? Most of those people killed were regular citizens. You think we really have any fucking control on anything our country does? Do you think we really have any control over decisions our government makes? Give me a fucking break guys. We are victims of its tactics just as much as anyone. Sure, being American, I personally agree with everything CluBb99 said. Most ignorant 'yanks' i surround myself with would also agree. So I guess that a bunch of normal people just deserve to die because of someone elses bad political decisions. If you really believe that, you are just as ignorant as those small minority of palestinians who were cheering in the streets. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Mcman, you talk about karma and ideologies, but you support the idea of killing. You are an idiot. The U.S. is not perfect, but neither are any of the other human institutions.
Take any one of the governments today, let it develop into a world superpower, and what do you have, something ragingly similar to the the United States of America.
What I'm aiming at here is that it's not the United States, or the Israelites, or the Mormons either for that matter, it's human beings in general. Until we can all understand the meaning of life (that being that there probably isn't any, excluding of course the ones we make for ourselves), and are able to realize the importance of Human Unification, there can and never will be any peace. It is a strange time we find ourselves in, in which the science is to there, but unfortunatly most of the people are not.
It is easy for most of you on this board to lay back and say "fuck humanity", but I for one happen to have a lot of faith in her, although I admit she does have a LOT of demons to slay first. If you ask me, a couple thousand more years or so, a couple of planets later, and just maybe, just MAYBE, we might finally might get it.

If this ( the attack) is what it takes for people to acknowledge the desperation of
the oppressed people of the world so be it. Seems there is a double/triple.. standard..
palastinian babies are expendable when the Israeli govt retailiates. I don't want to
debate the mideast crisis..there's enough blame to go around.. the problem
is much deeper. And McMan is right on

You are talking about all these Tibetan monks, but monks have nothing to do with this. If you can say they do, then every founder of this country stealing a piece of candy when they were children have something to do with this. You said these people were uneducated, but I think that you don't know why these people are doing what they are and you are obviously being romanced by ideas and practices that are simply different than the ones you knew before them, having the important element of nonviolence that you lament about yourself and your ancestors. You sound like those white people that feel guilty about slavery and don't know how to deal with them like regular people. Instead of trying to change things that happened, you should try and make things better and NOT justify actions that take life. I think that this fight in the middle east has gone on for a long time and that violence is definitely not going to end terrorism or the conflict. The only thing that will fix it will be some sort of treaty or alliance. So, stop all of the fighting and stop playing little devil's advocate and open YOUR eyes like you're telling those people to open theirs and I will open mine as well.

think what mcman is trying to point out is that *everybody* should be take responsibility for their actions, and we as a country, we as people that make up the larger organism that is the usa , don't take responsibilty for the effects our wasteful consumerism, selfish imperialism, questionable alliances, and personal apathy have on the world. innocent people suffer the consequences while we reap the rewards. i understand that im taking a risk with drugs, if i get arrested (i have been), ill be upset but not deny that i knew what may happen. by pissing all these people off we should not be in denial of the fact that something like this might happen.
a lot of other countries are similar in this regard, but in the usa in particular, as a superpower and hardcore consumer-oriented capitalist country, its extremely obvious that we are irresponsible - the government, mainly. i dont understand how so many people can not realize that. so as a result we hurt a lot of people unnecessarily, and hardly think twice about it.
.i'm definitely not saying that because those people who died may have been apathetic, that they deserved to die....thats not what was due to them. it was unjustified and *completely* excessive - but *expected*. all these little instances of not taking responsibily for our actions have had the effect of creating certain people who are filled with pain and anger at the u.s. as a symbol of what they feel is wrong with the world, people who will do anything to get their message across. fanatics, certainly, but fanatics that in one way or another we helped to create.
annnd, just as we should take responsibility for our own actions, i think those terrorists should take responsibility for their actions...but who are the terrorists, how much were other people involved, what should the consequences be? we dont know and we shouldn't be premature. it should take a lot of thought... we go kill some innocent civilians, maybe the terrorists will say "hey, those people were innocent, you u.s. citizens weren't" and launch those secret nukes and bam... or maybe they'll just crash some more planes and then we'll launch the nukes, and then someone else will launch nukes on us, hey lets go for it, an eye for an eye, with the victim deciding the punishment right?

I whole heartly support my country America. I support our president in this time of crisis (However I voted for Gore). I support a retaliation, however. Other than that I agree with most of what you said. I would like to expand a little on your points about the wide diference of our standard of liveing with one single question.
Has anyone asked themselves how is it that we can buy their oil, haul it to America via huge boats, refine it to gasoline, TAX THE HELL OUT OF IT and yet we still pay less for it than what most people pay for bottled water (that was most likely gathered from a near by state and NOT imported)? I mean something just dosent add up here.

I doubt your stats highly...could you give me a link or something so i can check it out?...refrain from the PETA (people for the eating of tasty animals), or greenpeace sites because they don't know what they speak.
i'll will assume you are correct for the sake of argument. What did they consume with that 111 million dollars? Oil?, Coal?, hydro?
Your stat doesn't tell us anything other than the fact the united states did something according to the laws the "WORLD" set forth. ie: buying consumption. Could you tell us what they bought?

To respond to your pathetic post, is to give it more importance than it deserves, but alas I must:
1. USA is acting since the 2nd world war as they are the world owners-
If the US doesn't get involved in world affairs we are criticized by the socialist Europe as being "Isolationists", indeed most of our world intervention is because countries beg us to get involved. Take Kosovo, we want to pull out but NATO begs us we must stay, even though it's not a us problem. Believe I would be the first to say , NO aid money to any other country, bring all our troops back home, I don't like being taxed to help other countries, especially when those countries don't even show their appreciation. Sometimes I think we should have let the Germans take over France, now they would all be speaking German.
2. USA is responsible for the 80% pollution of the planet-
The map below shows where the highest concentration of CO2 emissions are as you can see Brazil is by far a dirtier country the the US and brazil wasn't even included in the Kyoto treaty, neither was China another huge polluter. Environmentalist especially European ones really would like to plunge the US into a European like dark age. Focusing on US when turning a blind eye to the real world polluters. Did you know that burning coal in America is about 90% efficient, meaning you use 90% of the energy generated, pretty efficient. Meanwhile in Africa and other parts of the world when they burn coal and wood the barely get 60% efficiency, 40% wasted.
3. for the mass diffusion of hard drugs-
This statement is so stupid, it shows that you are truly a glittering gem of colossal ignorance.
4. also is responsible to keep the third world countries poor-
News flash: Poor countries are poor because of their corrupt governments, the US pours billions of dollars into countries in Africa and Haiti and eastern and western Europe. Are money is wasted and stolen by these corrupt governments. This is why I would be in favor of stopping ALL economic aid, until we can verify that are money is being used wisely. You sound like the type of person who always finds someone else to blame for you pathetic little existence, like many of these poor countries. I suggest to you and them, look in the mirror, there you will find your problem.
5. when the 70% of the world population are against USA-
Once again your ignorance rears its ugly head (although I am sure its not as ugly as you real head). The worlds isn't again the USA, in fact most people in the world like the USA, that's immigrants flock to the USA by the millions. Now, who doesn't like the US? Not the world population but many governments. They are jealous and envious of our wealth and strength, so they try to tear us down. Try as they may, they will not ever pull us down.
I would like to know where you live, I would also like to bash your fucking face in with my fist but that can wait. I hope that if you live in the US you will take the first plane, train or bus to Mexico or some other country, I pray you will be happier there. And if you live outside the US, then please give me your name so I can make sure you will never be allowed into the United States, and no that's not an empty threat, but a promise.
I would also like to remind all Americans who dislike America that I am sure Croatia, India, Sudan and many more countries will welcome you with open arms. I, for one, would be happy to see you go.

No, they bought decreased consumption. This means they paid the Russians 111 million to use even less energy, so we could use more. Like a balancing act, I think. We use more and pay them to use less. Sounds like credit to me.

::clapping:: I do have questions, but for fear of reprisal, I will say this sentence first. Why are the countries and the peoples poor in the first place?!?!? They are fucking forced to leave their ways of life or die. They are poor only because they give up their culture, their land and their souls. I am glad they are not DEAD, but they might be better off. You tell me that its okay to pack fertile soil with cattle that we are just going to eat afterwards, move onto another plot of land that the people have to sell to live and do the same there. Meanwhile, their poplulation grows, so they have to move somewhere. Into the forest they go. They need more clear space, so there goes the forest and its nutrient-rich soil, its contribution to the environment and its masses who are murdered. You tell me this is okay? America (the PEOPLE) doesn't mean to be the way it is. The problem with this is that the people think that it isn't the way it is, keeps making the same demands, and the government turns the blind eye FOR the people. This wouldn't stop most Americans even if they did learn of it. We're not callous, we're diverted. Tell me its okay that people in India don't get married the way they used to. You think its beautiful to see those people walking down the aisle?? We rape every culture. You're in or you're out. God HELP you if you have nothing we want but land and people to offer up as slaves.

I know what purchasing consumption is. But that still doesn't tell us WHAT they did with the 111 million dollar balancing act. Did they burn more oil, coal, hydo, solar? that 111 million dollar stat is useless unless you know what was done with it. Even if you buy consumption it will be recorded. I just find it moronic to accuse the US from "HIDING" the real stats towards our consuption. He is a ECO-NAZI and any stat he can put up i could probably find 2 that denounce it.
