Little carbon scrubbers?? (things are getting STINKY)

Well its been a couple of weeks, and things are just starting to smell.
That fav Kush is smelling most of all(since Master Kush is Hindu kush crossed with Skunk#1, I think that my favorite kush is leaning towards its Skunk side, phew, Skunky. (I really want to get a pic, its so dense, and dark green and pretty )
I remember someone posting a link to some CHEAP 20(us$) carbon scrubbers.
I am fine with the idea of building something on my own, and I know its simple, but, since I dont have much cash to spend, and cant risk a "funny smell" complaint, I thought I would ask you about those little scrubbers. (I might build my own afterall, but I want to look at my options(quickly), as I am close to "flipping" the switch.
One at the front door, and one just outside the closet I figured.
And what about building my own, polyfill , carbon and an old PC fan??? Am I missing something??
Thank you for your time.

Made mine custom out of ducting parts, carbon hepa filters, and filling it with activated carbon. Its for sell @ the marketplace, for cheap.

There's also another thread on OG where a guy made a carbon scrubber for a micro grow... he used a project box from radio shack, an empty kleenex box, and carbon filters from the fish department at walmart...oh, and a roll of duct tape of course. Once you understand the basics of how it functions, it's not too hard to design your own on the cheap to tailor your needs.

all you have to do is have your Out take filter through activated carbon...A little one like what was posted will work fine for the milder strains, But if you have 1000w setup with all the bells and wistles And you want to keep the smell down during harvesting, you going to want somthing along the lines of the Laundry basket model.

Well my outake is just the rectangular gap above the door. (but for now, I might see what sticking a filer up there will do) My intake is a crack in closet door(its just barely open),... with a fan sitting in front of it. Switching to flowering is going to be stressfull. (light leaks)
I am also wondering how I am going to dry the cannabis, the front room is conected to the outside(and the walkway for the other tenents ), and the room where the scrubber will be is conected to the closet.......but for now, I just want to eliminate the smell.
I have sat inside the closet with the closet light off, and the room light on, and the leaks are VERY small, even with the door open a crack.
Thanks for the advice guys

So let me get this, it sucks out the air and makes it not smell correct?

Well the fan WOULD suck air through the carbon, and then push it out the other side of the fan, thus no smell.
But I might be able to get away with just stuffing the gap at the top of my door.

I don't get it then, I always see the box next to the dank right, so it sucks air in from the carbon and blows in onto the plants or is it just used to purify the whole room or does it just make the smell disappear from the plant?

you run your garden exhaust through the scrubber and then out into the world... you just have to make sure that you're getting enough CFM through the scrubber to get through the resistance of the filters.
