well cubes bruise blue so if they dont then I wouldnt eat them. split a stem and scrape it really good if they dont blue then dont eat them. why your splitting it open check if the stem is hollow. cubes are hollow. that last one looks to be nonactive probrobly a pan species. it looks sort of like a psilocybe corophila(sp?) I found once, but again its non active.

Well they are pretty dry now but they still don't bruise blue. The stems are hollow only by a little bit though, looks like the hole is big enough to fit something just larger than a pin. They don't quite look like cubes but they pretty much match the description of them besides the not bluing.

I know! Maybe I found a new species hehe. This calls for an expert! they have the same size, same color, same print, same Habitat, as are cubes here in Florida yet they don't bruise and they look just the slitest bit different. By the way the pics I posted were taken about an hour after they were picked so they would have bruised by then.

The cube lookalikes may be Stropharia semiglobata, Stropharia coronilla, or similar species. Not active. It would be helpful to see a shot of the underside of the caps and the stems. A photo of the top of the caps doesn't help much by itself.

You did not mention if there was a ring on the stem; this is important.

The bottom one appears to be Panaeolus papilionaceus or similar inactive Pan.

The spore print color on the first ones is more suggestive to me of the pink spored mushrooms than the purplish brown ones. That would suggest that they are from the genus Entoloma, a difficult genus to identify in where many species are very poisonous.

Happy mushrooming!

I think I have found the big ones in your top pic as well...they are indeed pink spored when fresh, and turn dark when they get a litle older. The scales on the cap very much resembles a portebello when fresh. The little one on the bottom is one of the fake copies.Panaeolus sphintrinus its called i belive.Panaeolus campanulatus is simalar as well. Its got a more cracked-looking cap.I belive you have an example of sphintrinus on your bottom pic...Sorry man, they are deceptive little bastards.Ill upload some of the pics of the copies i found sometime tonight=)

OK. Not Stropharia, not Psilocybe. Those really do not resemble P. cubensis at all.

ToxicMan was was dead on when he noticed the pinkish spore print. Entoloma is very likely and so is Hebeloma. They should be considered poisonous.
