the problem with windows XP is that even after you put in the reg code, it wants you to call some number and get another code to re-register it.

anybody happen to know of a crack to get around this?

I used to format every 30 days for that lol, didn't take me very long I had it down to about 1 hour 20 mins and I was back up with everything running and customized.

I've gone back to windows 2000 now tho

You should also be able to register over the internet.
The version of XP you describe is probably an old Home edition.

Download XP Pro Corporate. It doesn't require the serial validation and you can run windows update with no problems.

Do you actually need the corporate version, or just a corporate CD key? I'm running a pirated copy of XP Pro with a corporate key, and windows update still works fine.

Contact Microsoft, if you have a legal version.
And still have all the papers and the serial key, you might be able to get a replacement.

Give it a try.

Legal software is better.

I thought you needed the corporate version, but if it works for you I guess it works. Or maybe you were just lucky and found a valid corporate cd-key.

there's a XP keygen I have that will make valid keys (that microsoft will accept when it's update time) for any version of XP. It actually spends processor time "probing for valid keys", and it generates and then tests key after key until it finds a valid one and logs it for you in a text file. It's never failed me. PM me if anyone wants it, it's small enuff to email.

edit: Though it will create valid keys for any XP version, you really should use it to make XP corp keys because XP corp doesn't require the activation as was stated previously in this thread.

did you:

-use a windows XP corp cd to install?

-set the keygen to find a windows corp key?

I'd make sure that the keygen was set to make corp keys, make some new keys and try again, and then if that don't work try a different cd.

I don't get it, I'm running on a key from that thing now with 0 problems

Well I found other ways to get around the problem, but I was really surprised the keys werent workin, because like you, I had used it succesfully for a while before. Oh well, there is more than one way to get around any security measure.

By the way it wasnt a corp addition, just pro. I just crack the registration and activation after installation

if your still using the same xp CD you always have, Im sure it will work. I think it may have not worked for me, because I tried it using a newer, and legal, copy of xp. Perhaps they changed the code manufacturing on the newer CDs.
