I agree that we haven't done everything perfectly but we have tried and done more for the world than any other country. Our foreign policies i admit should be changed. You're making so much more of my words than is intended. I'm not condoning the attacks, I'm not blaming the american people in the slightest and I'm not justifying the terrorists.
There ARE reasons why this attack happened. Whoever attacked America obviously believed very strongly that they were doing the right thing. If you are ever going to overcome the terrorists, you need to find out why they think like this and what their problems with America are.
By reducing to situation to 'black and white' or 'good vs evil', you are preventing any real progress by adopting a similar mindset to the terrorists. This is something that our country has learned through many years of continuous terrorist attack.

Where does it say there that I wouldn't fight if my family were being attacked? Maybe you've never read any of my posts before, but the idea of a war kind of thrills me. And, BTW, my family is about the one thing that I would defend to the death.

If there is war war as you selfish Americans wish. You will suffer more on your homeland and in the battlefield. I am a veteran front line guerilla fighter. I fought off the Soviet invaders at the height of their power. You Americans with no experience on holy battlefields would be smitten by the rightious force of Allah and the judgement of my AK-47.

eh, and your mister 6'5" 250 pounds of muscle with nerves of steel? no one is a "perfect soldier". but anyone can fight a war. i dont see what would make you a better soldier then Kid... maybe you have some practice at a shooting range, but i dont really think that has anything to do with the chaos of combat. If you are saying you wouldn't lose your nerves in your first attack... you know jack shit about war, and maybe try getting some info from people who actually lived through them and aren't afraid to tell the truth. Everyones got a killer inside them, part of our survival, its just left repressed and never used in the civilized world.

well i was in Panama and the persian gulf war (8 years ARMY) so i can assure you i can handle myself. What do you know about war litlle man? Besides the little action figures you play with?

I would not have a problem serving. I just don't think right now we have anyone to fight. When we have singled out a clear enemy,of course I would serve.

eh, and you know this for a fact? that goes completely against the need for survival, everyone has adrenaline after all. hell, ive watched high school kids you would probably call "pussies" almost beat 2 people to death over a football game. people are natural killers.. just like every other animal.

my great grandfather was a captain in the polish underground during WW2, my grandfather was a jewish boy running with his mother from nazis after seeing german soldiers kill his sister and father, my father served 6 years in the army and excelled in officer school, ive known a few vietnam veterans (they are all fucked up really bad), and i myself am entering NROTC (if i dont get drafted, heh). ive read a bunch of books on war, written by veterans, and from what ive learned, panama and the persian gulf dont even come close to a real war. fighting as an american in those wars is about as dangerous as getting in barfights every week.

It's still pretty warm. It was nice clear skies today. A bit windy on campus. Cool enough for shorts. Gets pretty cold at nights though.

I agree. However i can explain how it is the closet and most accurate out of a majority of the people on this site. Rememeber what you saw on CNN during the war wasn't a 100% accurate

Why are you going into NROTC? It was funny when we'd get a ROTC guy in our company and he'd try to give orders to senior NCO's (I was an E-6). We would just laugh at him and put him in the back of the hum-v and tell him to be quiet and pay attention. Nice guy though i kind of liked him. Your families history sounds pretty interesting i haven't studied my family past the 1st WW

From what you learned, you were mistaken. The persian gulf set the stage for how future wars will be fought. There is no honor in fighting hand-to-hand when you don't have to. But i cannot compare it with the Vietnam war..that was a different war.

well, yes it was a "futuristic war", but i didnt mention that almost 50% of american casualties were from friendly fire.. it was just a massacre. but hell, this will be most likely a massacre to, no one in there right mind will help them out like the USSR helped the viet cong.

well, the navy has a serious shortage of capable medics (or nurses, heh) and i think i should help out. also, it looks good on your resume. as for my families history, thanks, i do think its quite interesting also.

well, the wars you mentioned the soldiers werent in too much danger (of course they could have died much easier then any civilian, but still hardly any americans died). if you arent really afraid for your life, and dont want to fight, why would you?
