Holmes Cool Mist HM2025

I bought a Holmes cool mist that seems to be missing the wick filter. Will this kind of humidifier work well if I replace the filter? This is what you get from the salvation army :)

I used to use a Ultra Sonic but it was getting really hot and sketchy by the end.

hi- is the wick filter the long tube thing thats in the middle of the spinning disk? (sorry to be so technical ::grin::) if it is, you do need that part. i bought a cool mist not knowing it needed that part- it did blow some air, but had little humidity in it. you can tell its not working if the water level stays the same. sorry :( same thing happened to me.

(put a pair of glasses in front of the output hole- you can tell if its spewing out humidified air if the glasses fog up). gluck
