Someone rather reknown posted awhile back about homemade mycrobags...Great idea I might add :thumbup:

They stated that you could first make your own patches (for gas exchange)..The said that you could get a hole puncher(or something like) and put holes somewhere in the bag like this

And then you could basically silicone on some tyvek , let it cure for 24hours and violoa, homemade bags...

Load sub.,Pc, let cool, inject...It's beautiful...I was just wondering if anyone could spot the negative things about this and maybe how to modify it...

I was told that you could even seal the opening (impluse sealer i think..) and then you wouldn't have to worry about rolling it up and keeping it shut...

Well any comments/help/flaming would be appreciated, as long as you're trying to help, dickheads w/ no purpose=:thumbup: :lol:

I would worry that something might go wrong at one of the silicone/tyvek seals.

I believe it was una who posted a gem a few years ago. Bags with the open end going through rings, the bag banded to the ring. And a filter patch over the open end now the size of the ring. I think that is close to how it went...

I think i've seen that...

Weren't the rings the kind used for sewing? They use them to strech/hold a part of the fabric while you sew..
But i've never seen any that could withstand Pc temps...I've only seen the ones that are made out of plastic :lol:

And yea, Good point, But this silicone II shit has yet to fail me thus far, :thumbup:..I've used it to fill holes in my jar lids (went from 4 holes to one...did Pf and swithch to grains:smirk:)

Gonna do a couple of bags and i can only fit one bag in at a time...

Reviewing the old post i see it is big syringes he used. and polyfill to fill the holes.

Yes i use these now, fuck jars those little bastards suck, i use the pop bottle thing and its awsome, any one know were you can get cheaper bags online then at the grocery store.

Did you go with the 8" x 12" bags or the 12" x 24"?
I emailed the customer support there, and he said 8" is the "width" dimension. But this doesn't make sense with a circular base. Does he mean diameter? Anyone ordered these?

They are measured flat...they are 12 inches tall and 8 Inches wide...the diameter would be less then that..hmmm either 4 or 6 inches or so probably..

They're thick enough..you shouldnt be throwing them around your house, but handling them gently so your not bellowing air in and out with contams hitched on.

Those are the bags I use for hot water pasteurizing. The 8 x 12 are a little small, and you can fit about 5-7 LBS. of hydrated shit in there, maximum. I would suggest the 12 x 24 if you want to do anything bigger then 5 LBS.

Despite their thickness, these bags are surprisingly tough, they take a lot of abuse from me with no tears or rips yet.
