so have many of you tryed 6T's method of preparing millet? basically just soaking overnight, straing for 30 minutes.. then adding to jars and pressure cooking. does this get the perfect water content? is there any problems i should be concerned with?

if you can do it today put it off till tommorow cause odds are it isnt really that important and probably doesnt even need to be done at all.

My name in a former life was SixTango (6T) & aka Mycota.

Object is to soak until seed hydrates to max, without sprouting.

Overnight, 24 hours, or longer. No set time, as some seed is dryer that others.

It also depends on temp you soak at. Room temp is faster than soaking in a cold garage.

A test is to fill container to desired level, fill with water to just above seed. Allow to soak. If seed expands above water level, add more water.

Once seed has stopped expanding, you are there. Rinse & drain until seed doesnt drip & you are good to go.

No simmer is needed. Some do, some don't. I don't.

Edit: to add. To this day I still use "Bird Basic" brand WBS from PetCo 40 lbs for $8.

Hey Agar! Did you ever have any luck with the sunflower seeds?
