Hi, I'm not sure if this has been covered but let me describe my problem.

I got a bit of pretty moist buds a couple weeks ago, but got sick so I didn't smoke it for awhile. So a couple days ago, im all better and break out the stash. I stored it in an airtight jar (I guess I figured I would keep it from drying out), and it now has very tiny white spots on it (almost like it turned into some really crystally bud) that I swear were not there before.

My question is: Are these thc crystals as a result of letting it sit sealed up like that (they are very small, and not clustered at all), or is this a form of mold?

I am thinking about just tossing it just in case, but it would be a horrible waste? has anyone else come across this same thing?

yep, wet bud will definatly mold.

Generally you should just throw it out, but i stashed away about 10g that got moldy in a cigar box. When times got hard a year or so after the fact i got the buds out and just smoked parts opf nugs that had no mold on them.

I could flick the buds and see a spore cloud come off.

from what ur decribing this is normal 2 let bud sit a lil longer as it dries up a bit the thc crystals become more visable. jus pack a small bowl. or better yet eat a bit if it was mold ud def be able 2 taste it

take a picture of ur bud and psot it so we can be 100% sure what it iss

not sure how safe that is man..mold can be pretty dangerous stuff to get in you...

It smells pretty normal. Actually, when I first got it, it seemed like it was not cured yet, it was moist and smelled a bit like hay. Now it smells fine.

I cant post a pic, I dont have anywhere to host it. Unfortunately I can only describe it. It just looks like small crystals that you would normally see on buds, except if you look really close, they almost look slightly raised from the surface. When I first saw it, I dried out the buds right away so it hasnt changed or grown or anything. When I think of mold I imagine a something growing out of one spot and spreading from there, this is just kinda all over.

Anyways, I know its probably tough to advise without a picture and all, but I appreciate the help, thanks guys

Bad, bad, bad. Very bad, Danial-Sun.

You must always keep them hanging for at least 3-4 days. I say one week.

Even after you think they are dry, when you put them in a bag they'll regain a tiny bit of moisture.

Oh, and very important - REMOVE EXCESS STEMS AND LEAVES. Can't state that enough. Those things hold wetness like a camel and spoils the buds when you bag them.

Better luck next time, Kid - insert another quarter.

get a good magnifying glass and learn to identify mold... you can usually tell mold by an ammonia scent, but i would get a magnifying glass. mold grows from spores, and spores are easily transferable, meaning that your assumption of mold growing from only one point and spreading is false. mold is usually going to look a little fuzzy.

If you dont want to smoke the weed. i suggest you run a butane extraction.

it is prob mildew, people that grow weed don't dry out buds to the fullest...the more water=more weight=more money.

drying out weed take about 5-7 days, then curing takes another month of so but i do not have to wait that long. for curing, u place buds in a jar about 3/4 full. put the lid on and open it everyday for about 15 mins(shake the buds around lightly). this removes any more moisture in the buds
