errr

There are two determining factors when deciding which fruit is better.

The first and foremost being how palleteable the flesh of the berry is. The blackberry has a unique tartness to it that is present only in slightly premature blueberries. However, if left to over ripen a teeny bit, the blackberry can become a subtly sweet mushy berry.

The second determining factor would be the ease of picking. The blueberry bush is smooth and forgiving, but the blackberry bush doesn't fuck around. You can get cut up real nice if you aren't careful......

Used to be even lucker bro...it used to be a vacant lot...we played there when I was a kid.

it had been an orchard...for 18 of my 44 years...plus it had been there before my time.

It had every kind of fruit tree imaginable and even had some fig trees...growing there.

Back in the 40's and 50's this Greek owned most of the hillside here in West Seattle...he was a Greek Fisherman.

It was his orchard...after he died in the early 70's it wasn't taken care of anymore and fell to ruins. :frown:
His family sold it off in the 80's...it was pretty overgrown from not being taken care of.

Now there are 2 very large houses on that lot that was the orchard...and one of those neighbors is a complete dickhead.
I've had a few run ins with him over the years.

sounds like old time lake stevens

one of my uncles had a place overlooking the sound (don't member exactly where, I was 5 or so) - he had so many blackberrues there. I remember going out and looking over the sound and eating as many berries as I could.

pops grew up on lake stevens

moms grew up in Marysville

I fondly recall my early days as a lad; running through the bramble of a blackberry field, my hair flowing in the brisk wind, berry juice running down my chin as I couldn't help but shriek with laughter.

Life was easier back then.  Simple, even.

Neither. My allegiance lies with the almighty SASKATOON BERRY.

This amazing berry can only be enjoyed fresh, as freezing causes the flavor to change very badly. And even though it looks EXACTLY like a blueberry, it is not genetically related! The Saskatoon is in reality a member of the rose family!

And it's the only berry I've puked on due to gorging myself!
