I'm a totaly newbie when it comes to growing shrooms. I found this site and I was wondering if anybody has tried this method, and if it worked out for them?

Here's the method you wanna start with. Its very very simple, and the most common growing method for people new to mushroom cultivation. Its virtually guaranteed that any questions you have regarding this method will be thoroughly answered in the forums if you ask... GL bro :stoned:

im on my first grow with the shroom wizards tek and doing pretty well almost ready to fruit

Its not that shroom wizard is wrong about his tek he is just very vaugue and leaves out some important details try the teks here at shroomery they are worth it

it is a basic tek but it leaves out a lot of issues about the sterility you need to practice to have total success :smile:

I went through with the shroom wizards tek all the way to casing/crappy fruiting and I must say, IMO i would really just go with the PF tek. There's nothing in particular that I would point to being blatantly wrong in the SW's tek, but there's a lot of issues with sterility and maintaining proper humidity that are sort of glossed over. It may be slightly more confusing to get started with PF's tek but in the end you're really going to need to know most of this stuff and you might as well not bother with wasted effort due to contamination, crappy yields, etc.

To explain a little further, I lost two of my cases to green mold and I've gotten pretty crappy yields from the other ones due to underwatering and humidity loss cuz I didn't cover my cases or anything.

The bottom line is, no tek is set in stone and the best way to go about things is to read a bunch of different peoples methods, pay attention to the similarities between them and put together a method that works for you. Hope that helps... good luck!
