Fire -) Batteries?
    #3915793 - 03/14/05 10:36 AM (19 years, 19 days ago)

So I was lighting some incense earlier this morning and I became a little preoccupied and waited a bit too long to blow it out and it grew relatively large in a short amount of time by catching onto an entire pack of 100 other incense i had sitting next to it along with my phone, a few candles, an old amp, and two double a batteries. I didn't see it until it was big because my cpu was in front of me blocking it out in the distance. Luckily I was able to put it out until it went any further.

But my question is.... The batteries I had there burned for a bit, but didn't really melt or anything so they didn't get too badly burned. Is there any way I could have been harmed by this? Chemicals in the air or something of the sort?

Probably not, but it depends upon the type of AA battery. Some have mercury or other heavy metals in them that are not good for you. I would honestly be more worried about the toxins from any melted plastic, etc.
