humidity question

this morning i put a casing into a fruiting chamber. i opted to put some perlite in the bottom since its down around 20% here, and i must have added too much water to it cause my humidity is around 92% now. is this going to effect pinning? if so does anyone have a good suggestion on how to get the humidity down?

95 and up for casings isn't so great...You'll come to find out that keeping it from overlaying will be kind of a challenge. Gl

well if it gets hotter it will go up ive heard people drilling some holes in the top of the chamber and if it goes down to much simply tape one by one till its where you want it

I'm sorry, but i must disagree with this:

It is best to get as close to 100% rh as you can and at the same time near constant fresh air, like stamets says...
Only after pins begin to form, should the humidity be lowered to 85-92% still making sure to give nearly constant fresh air (i didn't say constant air exchanges). Stamets says 1-3 air exchanges per hour. I just find it easier to give constant from a cool mist than it is to figure out how long it takes to totally displace 20 gallons of air and divide...

So would it be good to run a fish air pump line into your chamber, into some water and hydrogen peroxide, and if the humidity gets too high, just put some small holes in it, maybe towards the bottom to allow for gas exchange? Thanks.Peace,Love,Happiness and Harmony. Hippie Chick

Sorry, I always use stones, along with plastic steel wool, in the containers my fresh air runs in. I understand the plastic steel wool helps create smaller particules of water. Helps with the humidity. I'll use tyvek on the holes. Thanks Road.Peace,Love,Happiness and Harmony. Hippie Chick
