Bob Dylan is not listed as one of the 6 members...It looks like just a combination of already existing Rockers who decided to make an "ULTIMATE" group and call it a prima Donna name: the BAND!! Never heard of any of there work though, its probably good with artists like that. It will probably never live up to the name it has been coined as. Kinda jinxs the purpose...Im going to go into there music expecting alot.

They were not Bob Dylans' band. He toured and recorded with them for a while , but they were not His band.

Yeah, they started off as Dylan's band. They were originally called The Hawks, but when dylan was getting negative publicity for going electric, the press would just refer to them as "the band" so they took that name.
The Basement Tapes is quality, most of the tracks are with Dylan but several are sung by the dude from The Band, I think The Band played quite a large part in writing the songs too.

Ya actually Dylans set was half Acoustical and half electric blues back when he was a big name---the crowd went nuts during the first half but then literally booed like an angry mob when he got to the electric blues half. Dylan didnt give a fuck though---thats Dylan just a lone ranger. Hes way before my time but I love that guy. Just doesnt give a fuck

I really like the band.. i have the discography. The recorded some amazing tracks with another personal favorite, Neil Young and a few with Van Morrison.
Atleast they got some airplay with The Weight.

The Night They Drove Ole Dixie Down.
One of my favorite songs ever.
I am, however, from Tennessee.....
