the eye of god
    #3912540 - 03/13/05 05:22 PM (19 years, 1 month ago)

Thik about this:

If you give a task to the computer to make every possible combinations of say 800x600 bitmaps with 24-bit color, it would work for eons and construct the image of everything that ever was will be or could be. Of course 99% of all of it would be noise or faulty images, but the rest would be the universe from the viewpoint of god.
The image database would contain the entire universe, every inch, from every direction in every point of time from the begining to the end. Not only that, but by interconnecting images, you would have video data of everything that ever happened and could happen

The number of pictures would be:

((2^8)^3)^480000

You could never view all the images because the universe would collapse untill you saw them all if you were to look at each for just a second. In fact, the universe would be born and dead again many times before the task was done.

But such a task is something any 90's computer could do, not counting storage problems.

Among those images would be video data in millions of different versions of each one of you shaking hands with me.

The eye of god.

Must be blind, or must have such an illuminating glow that it causes blindness... for I've seen many a man that has been blinded by attempting to penetrate the veil which covers it.

Science and religion don't mix. Of course, one can mix pepper and water to any degree of your liking... but ultimately you're left with a solution and not a compound which is what many are attempting to achieve.

Unless you're asserting god as a force of occurence relative to consequence... that is that god, and god's nature is but chance... in which case god wouldn't be god, but a fundamental force to explain phenomena unknown to us.

It was just a figure of speech.
Images of everything. Nothing could ever exist that those images could not show in billions of different angles.

If you would see all those images, you would see everything literally

interesting concept. to reduce it even more, all you would really need is a random number generator to spit out 0s and 1s and eventually you will reproduce every image or video of anything that ever existed or will exist from any angle in any resolution at any color depth.

nothing...
it's just interesing

there is an actual chance that the first image the computer spits out might be your own death shot on Kodachrome with Schneider lens.

Well... one could say a multitude of things, yet your determined to suggest a negative thing... (negative in most peoples opinions, indifferent to me)

You could of easily said that the first picture could of been of the land of milk and honey... (I was their when I was little)

I chose death because It is one of the most fascinating things to people, it affects them a lot to know about their own death.

Such conclusion about my state of mind based on the examples I use would need a deep knowledge of my mindset and personality, which you don't have at the moment.

 I'm human, I make a lot of assumptions

Indeed it is fascinating. It's almost as if everyone is living their whole lives only to die.
