Water Damage

i think i have what some people refer to as 'water damage' in some of my jars. i read in one post that this occurs when the jars are kept in a very dry, warm place. the place where my jars are incubated fits this description perfectly!

what would be a better environment for the colonising jars? humid? i can't really see how that would stop the build-up of water in the jars. at the moment, i have no tape over the inoculation holes, but i have got foil over the top of all the jars (i just couldn't bring myself to leave the holes totally uncovered, seemed to risky). what's the best thing to do to reduce the build up of water droplets in the jars (and reduce so water damage)?

Water damage is caused by dry substrate, not wet. Those droplets are normal. Better environment? Your terrarium.
