dunk, roll & double end case...
    #3901202 - 03/11/05 06:05 AM (11 years, 8 months ago)

Hey

Just finished birthing my cakes (GT's) colonization time was 24 days... I did a dunk for 15 hours in the fridge, and proceeded to roll in verm and do a double end casing on each cake (very messy work & not much verm seemed to sick from the roll) everything is nice and neat now and the cakes are sitting in my terrarium :-) Anyway I was just wondering if it would be in my best interests to repeat this same procedure after every flush, or which would be most beneficial. Hope I have something to eat in 2 weeks we have kinda a mini Woodstock thing happening so it would be nice

Thanks

i think it would be in your best interest to slice up that sucker and case it, next time around!

personally, i think the idea that casings arent beginner territory is poppycock. *IME*, If you can pin a cake you can pin a casing...

everyones diffrent but with caseings theres little room for error ive seen alot of people dissapointed because they lost everthing so im sayin if hes a begainner keep it simple and try to get what you can from cakes to me caseing is easy but not for everyone

Thanks for the replies will try casing next time round, just really hard to get supplies over here for example things like peat moss, coco coir, lime and oyster shell are impossible to find and people look at you like you are speaking Greek when you ask for the stuff. Perlite & Vermiculite were hard enough, and I'm not too keen to get stuff posted to me... Guess I'll have to look harder, otherwise for my first time it's pf cakes + all the extras. Done my few months of form reading so am definitely getting a feel for the theory behind everything now I just need the practice... Anyway should I do the whole rolling in verm thing and double end casing thing between flushes, or just dunk after the second flush. Thanks guys nice poo tek roadkill if you're reading this, hopefully will try that one day.
