Although Biochemists and other professionals attempt to explain the effects of psilocybin on the human brain in a purely scientific manner, you can quote me on THIS: Although the chemical effect can be explained scientifically, the essence of the mushroom lies in a truly spiritually and cosmic force which we are all a part of. This facet of the mushroom cannot be explained with any kind of math or science. Also, in response to the acid lies, mushrooms reveal the truth statement: Although I have never tried LSD my sister describes this trip as synthetic.

Id have to agree with you there deus - (by the by, love the name) I think there are two types of trips, the "I just want to get fucked up trip", which can be fun, but is like trying to get a buzz off wine coolers, only do it once and a while.
Then theres the more 'spiritual side of shrooming' not to be taken lightly, one can learn some deep messages givien to yourself by your Self, if that makes any sense. I have done my share of acid, and it is synthetic. It makes me jumpy and highly alert, but not in a plesant way. it is great for long clubtrips or long midnight walks crosstown. A subway ride in nyc on 3 tabs is an experience i reccomend
- but its so diffrent with shrooms, its organic, obviously, but its also more gentle, and allows the use to grow from the experince - I have never learned anything meaningful from acid- that doesnt make it a powerful drug in its own right - ok im babbling now.

you know, when I tripped acid, it didn't feel synthetic, though a lot of people here on the shroomery do. the only reason it "feels synthetic" is because you tell yourself it feels synthetic. On shrooms, visuals DO tend to be more earth like and pretty motionless and relaxed (though some filenames on my computer started twisting in circles, a very cool visual) but on acid they are in-my-face, constantly moving, thorny, and viny. I can't really explain it, it is just one of those things that you have to experience to understand. But ultimately, you control your trip. if you tell yourself it feels synthetic then it will. to me it feel all too real, and not nearly as dreamlike and relaxed as shrooms.

For me, LSD is when i trip for myself, the person, Mushrooms is when i trip for my Self, the Earth. To some, its all about the Healing, in essence, spirit, mind and soul, about Harmonising the energies in order to fully dream, awakened & aware, to truly create States of mind that transcend the strict rationality of the reality we have come to rely on and expect or take for granted, and, as a result, ultimately be trapped by with closed eyes, bound & blinded, lost in the silence of the night, yet still intact enough to see if we would just open our eyes and Be. There is no Trying, only Doing, so any outcome means succes because you will have succeeded in doing it, so there is ony positivety to be found there, within, if it is done for the Harmony that shines through all things, even in the things that 'seem synthetic', because, like some would say, that is just a selfcreated experience, born out of your own expectations, preprogrammed & not fully true to your own You. Thats were Acid can show you your lies, it cannot lie on its own accord, because, of course, it is just a chemical, it cannot 'do' anything but enable yourself to do it through them, see?
There is definatly a difference between acid and mushrooms but that doesnt nessecarily mean the comparison must be placed within a value judgement, because both are of equal value and importance, if you so create it for yourself.
Just accept, dont expect.

I have never found Acid synthetic - actually, i had the most spiritual experiences of my life on acid - like watching the sun rise and strange silver object buzzing around in the predawn clouds, stars that are the size of coins - seeing the winds change, etc. all quite cool
