War vets, having flashbacks from Vietnam, ... Are they time traveller?
    #3899068 - 03/10/05 07:24 PM (12 years, 4 months ago)

A fixation..

If ?you? decided now, that you future self would go back here again. (We are the time machines)

Let us say I just did?

Would it 'prove' that time travelling back to this point in time, is possible?
Would it 'prove' that time travelling back to this point in time, is impossible?

Is it like marriage? If you decide now, what to do in the future, you are trying to be in the future, and not here with ?you?. (?)

That is an interesting notion....!    For what if on a moment of great decision, it was actually your future self that looks at the situation in much depth of the then current situational outcome, and in deep reflection of that turning point, it helps you decide what will to be the better choice....

Perhaps this is what "Instincts" are made of....(?)    Telling you that the hard road will be the one that "pays" off in the long-run of your happiness and/or "plan"....

Neat thought Gomp, as usual....  Makes one thing of the possibilities....

In the case of the Vietnam vet with the ugly flashbacks, if what you are saying were true would he still have enlisted or not fought being drafted?

Maybe the vet would have fought courageously even knowing in the past from his future ghost that he would die in Nam in 1969 from a land mine.

Talk about flashbacks...

Flashbacks of the "Nam" sort are a stress freakout. I have known several vets with the condition. They don't really flash back to the war, but the stressful feeling from the war comes over them and they freak.
