jars and casings at the same time?
    #3898656 - 03/10/05 04:11 PM (19 years, 23 days ago)

we just threw together our first casing and im reading that it needs to be incubated for a few days.. however, there are still some colonizing jars in the incubator, is there any reason these two things cant be together for co2 reasons or something?

as long as your incubator isn't going to be used as your fruiting chamber your fine. if you case now by the time your jars catch up you might end up with overlay.

incubate = incubate, no matter if its cakes or casings or whatever. Maybe try a goose-egg too?

i live in a super dry climate, so i figured it would help; but does it really matter since the chamber is

Its ok to use wet perlite @ the bottom for humidity, recommended even as long as you dont have an ultrasonic or other device to keep your RH high enough. Ofcourse when the bottom is completely covered with casings it is of no use...
Butthen the moisture from the casing will take care of sufficient humidity.

As in here:
