My friend came across some Tabernanthe iboga seeds a while back and is now trying to germinate them... She tried but to no avail.....She was unable to find any info on growing this shrub anywhere... anyone have any experience with it? or know anything about it?
never tried it but i have been a sitter for a friend who wanted to try it. a tester dose of <0.1g powdered iboga root was followed an hour later with the rest of 1g. we'd agreed that he would stay in one room until it wore off. i was going to work in the next room but i'd stop in occassionally to check water/heat/light/stuff.
after an hour and a half he wanted to lie down - effects at this point like acid. he slept and woke several times over the next couple of days, not interested in smoking, food, talking or light. then slept and awoke feeling refreshed and recreated, feeling together enough to drive home.
after making sure that he was consciously deciding to do that i unlocked the door for him and off he went. when he got home he called and asked what day it was ... he'd totally lost 24 hours, having been affected for 48 hours rather than the 24 that he perceived.
this was a one off experience for him. after going cold turkey to give up a four year smack addiction, he was desperate and read about ibogaine in a magazine. he's still clean over a year later and has totally reorganised his entire life.
he was very brave to do this as only a couple of weeks prior someone in london had died while trying to use ibogaine to come off heroin.
