obsessive compulsive disorder & Lsd
    #3897259 - 03/10/05 01:14 PM (12 years, 8 months ago)

Heya,

Here we go.
i thought about writing my problem 3-4 times but i couldn't.i just didn't want to make it bigger.
here is my story,

1.5 month ago i took acid with my girlfriend.6 hours amazing triiping.
then we started to smoke canabis.while i was laughing at smthing i touched my glassess hardly.then started to think if it is unbalanced(sorry for english).
i told my self dont think about it,dont think about it.
but it grow and grow...
6 hours bad tripping then..

then the things changed days after.i started to thinking about that always.even i don't have my glassess on.

now i can't stop it.all day its in my head.
i say to my self dont think about it,dont think about it.
then finding myself chechking if i'm thinking about it.

i think thats called ocd.
i didnt go to doctor yet.i didnt have that shit before.
i'm scared.
:frown:

its like just horrible

now what you think about it?
is that lsd related?or it was just a disease waiting to come out?
or i should come down, everything is gonna be fine...

planning another cid trip next week,
but not sure...
if it will help me to get over that problem,
or just fuck my brain to hell.

agghhh

yeah thats all.

p.s.:when i'm busy its like going away for a while.
but then it comes to my mind again

Like i told you on MSN, seems to me that you have gained a 'pet' tick that turned into an obsession.

I understand it may be hard (or impossible) not to think about it, so the solution may not be that one.

Perhaps if you accept this as your 'pet' obsession, a part of your being that CANNOT in any way make your life worse it'll stop worrying you and/or eventually dissapear.

Because in fact checking for your glasses is something that is completely harmless. Who cares if you check your glasses lots of times?

Like i've told you, many times shortly after trips (particularly rough ones) i would smoke hash and at some point start thinking i had gone permafried from the trip. This would grow and grow until i thought "well if i am indeed permafried there's nothing i can do so i might as well accept that as a part of me".

Ya know what..? 5mins later the fearful thought loop/panic attack was gone  [Now i dunno if i am permafried or not. If i am, well, who cares as long as it doesn't harm my life and dreams...?]

See what other shroomerites have to say about this, and perhaps consider seeing a psychologist and see if he can help you...

I personally believe YOU ARE GOING TO BE ALRIGHT, obsession or no obsession, tick or no tick. The sooner you get this into your mind, the sooner you'll stop worrying about your tick and the less obsessed by it you'll be.
AND the less obsessed by it you are, the bigger are the odds of the tick
dissapearing.

Even if it doesn't disappear it can cause you no harm as long as you don't worry about it, so...

Just my 0,02? My appologies if i'm talking out of my arse...
I know nothing about this subject, i'm just trying to relate your problem to my personal experiences.

 :sun:

People who have or tend towards OC behavior tend to circle their thoughts. For example, at the start of your post you wrote, "i thought about writing my problem 3-4 times". It's like you are in orbit around a behavior. You are returning to it again and again. I'm sure you know that, but it's important to understand how these things get started.

Thinking about it reinforces it, and NOT thinking about it does the same thing. You are investing all this energy around this idea when you should just let it pass without acting upon it or reacting to it in any way. The next time that thought comes up just let it go like a bird flying across your line of sight. Don't follow it, let it go.

I had somthing similar come out of a mushroom trip that invlolved my ring finger touching my pinky finger. I was constantly thinking about how it felt and it bugged. It was really stranged and i kind of freaked out over it after it bugged me for a while. It took me a while to get over it but now it never bothers me.

Ive always had kind of wierd quirks like that kind of bothered me, i never seam to have any trouble anymore.

I supposedly have OCD. Not as bad as Jack Nicholson in that movie; but when I used to smoke I would have to take a shower or wash my hands because I'd feel guilty about doing it.

I am Ubik. Before the universe was, I am. I made the suns. I made the worlds. I created the lives and the places they inhabit; I move them here, I put them there. They go as I say, they do as I tell them. I am the word and my name is never spoken, the name which no one knows. I am called Ubik, but that is not my name. I am. I shall always be.

If i say to you "Dont think about a pink elephant" what images automatically comes to mind? This is my point, just try to relax and think about whatever you want as much as you like, its fine, not an OCD just your mind playin tricks on you, laugh, the cosmic joke is the only thing that you can rely on being a permenant factor, is impermenance itself.

I suggest you lay off the LSD for a while and relax without any substances for a week or two.
