What are these???

Today i am finding these little white mushrooms along the nature path.
They are blue i tell you.
What on earth are these??
This is the only pic i have of them right now;
i brought them home cause i didnt have the camera with me..
right when you pick them the stems are already pretty blue, and the caps, alll white, even the gills :)
Keep shoomay,
gg
oh, and you probably wont see much blue in this pic because they are already turning darker (black almost how copelandia's darken), and now, the caps arent pure white anymore and they also are now bluing

I have also found a very simialr bluing mushroom, but only one of them. I think mine is a bit different, but it was definitely blue, found it growing from a rotted stick. I took a few pics, let me do some digging and see what I come up with. You think they might be the blue foot mycena(sp?)

my first impression was bluefoot mycena. need something in the pick like a ruler or coin to give size perspective.

Well the only thing that resembles your mushrooms in my guides is the black-footed Marasmius(Marasmiellus niggripes) But those ain't black, they're blue :) Great pic BTW!

i am guessing that these mushrooms do indeed contain psychoactive chemicals.
but according to the book psilocybe mushrooms of the world, it says that there are several subspecies of bluing mycena..none of them ever showing the presence of psilocyin/psilocin after any tests
and then it mentions our friend mjshroomer once long ago in a galaxy far far away decided to bioassay bluing mycena's and reported them to be active.

Eat um up BraveOne :) Let us know if they are active! They do look like they are psilocybinish, don't you wish there was a cheap test kit for psilocybin!

Did those mushrooms smelll like Garlic?
Last season, I ran into very similar mushrooms and they definitely smelled like garlic.
They aren't the same species as the Audubon's Garlic Marasmius, but they look like the ones I picked.
Stay cool!-Levi7.

I'll go along with Marasmius, rather than Mycena, based on the widely spaced decurrent gills (& assuming that the spores are white). But I can find no reference to blue-tinged Marasmius species in any of my books. Might this be a previously undocumented species? I hope these might be brought to the attention of some academic mycologists willing to pursue further study.

No they dont smell like garlic.
I noticed no smell.
The caps were sticky.
They stuck to my nose when i tried smelling a handful.
Really small mushrooms.. the biggest i could find was less than 3/4" in diameter.

i have very little understanding about those little white and blue mushrooms
but i swear man the bluing on some of the more robust specimens was a extremely dreamy blue color. And, how do i describe this... the caps are almost transparent..so when held to the sky i saw clearer that the gills were all bluing slightly but the frosty pure white transparency..lol, tiny, weird little white and blue mushrooms.
i will keep a small sample of these.
i also have a few more pictures of them.

again, woodsman, Marasmius is probably right.. i also found little mushrooms growing on leaves and little twigs, a trait of marasmius.
most species of marasmius seem to appear overnight in the wet morning woods, just as these did.

here is another image i took of the same mushrooms later the same day.
these were also found at an entirely different location
..gg
They seem to match up with plate number 1 in the national audubon field guide
"Black-footed Marasmius"
-the only difference in description is that mine have blue and theirs stain red..

Nah, I was just kidding about the bioassy :)
These do seem to be some undocumented species of Marasmius, pretty damn cool find there GG. I can't find the pics of the one I found, I erased them in the moment of excitement when I found those cubies in woodchips. I bet money though I found the same specie, I'm going to check the same spot again today and see if anymore have come up after a hard rain last night.

Im bringing this one back from a while ago;
I wanted mjshroomer to see this -but he was on a mushroom foray overseas.
- - ANd ive been meaning to ask him to elaberate upon what is discussed in Psilocybe Mushrooms of the World (stamets).
In the chapter about Identifying Psilocybe Mushrooms it talks about Guzman & Allen once bioassaying a bluing variety of Mycena - and actually tripping off of them.
= )
If you could please elaborate on that , and tell me what you think i have in the pics
:)

none of the mycenas i've ever heard of had sticky caps, so I'm retracting my earlier stab at it saying mycena. I have no good info at this point

hey, they look really interesting to me. THey look super super close to mycena cyanorriza pics ive seen from overseas somewhere in europe. I've found some little green ones that look just like those white ones here., but mine were found in moss around witches hats. The ones around here are light greenish yellow when alive and fresh, then once picked, bruise a remarkable blue to aqua. All parts of the little greenish ones eventually turn blue as well, the gills and caps. the blue is so vibrant, it almost looks fake. and the samples of the fungi are so small, when dried they still have blue, but darker, and they have to weigh next to nothing. Ive found reall blue foot mycenas in oshkosh, wi. and i think your species here, is something new or undocumented. THe ones i found in oshkosh, resemble a psilocybe so damn close, except for the whitish gills and spore prints. The foot turns blue as ever when touched. THey are slightly sticky when wet, and have a separable gellatinous pellicle. But the blue in the caps seems to be only in the gellatinous pellice. The blue foot, according to mush.expert.com, is suppost to fade away when dried, but mine keep the blue foot all the way through drying. THe little dried and shrivled ones still have noticable blue at the feet, unlike what the web site said. I cant wait till next season to go get more of these little weird blueys again. Good pics and excellent find bro. If u can get a bunch, try 50 fresh ones, and if no effects, try 50 more and so on, see if they are active, u have to eat ALOT!!!!of small booms to feel the effects, the conocybes i found are suppost to be potent, but i still ate 175+ fresh ones, and then i felt the true effects and it was phenomenal!!!!
