I'm done
    #3893190 - 03/09/05 05:08 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

When I came here, I came looking for Truth. All I found were doubt and pluralism.

I'd like to thank all of you for making me realise I'm full of shit and that I'm devoid of any true wisdom. I need to quit thinking up theories and start living. So, basically, that's it, I'm done. I probably won't be back.

Don't let me poop your party. As you were, ladies and gents.

Until then have a good 'un!

Looking for the "truth"... You'll find it when your done looking for it.

I think that was his whole point... he's choosing to stop "looking for it" and simply live out the great mystery of life... which could be said to be the ultimate truth, after all.

hehe..depends on how you live. If you're living because you think that to simply live is the ultimate truth, then i agree with you. Experience is what we're here for.

The ultimate truth is that their is no ultimate truth. My only truth. (Besides the "Yes" concept [that's a hidden truth though])

I can give you 20+ examples of ultimate truths, can provide their relevance... Can disseminate their truths and the applicability of all of their shared truths.

Then the ultimate truth of that is one of subjectivity.

Nah, we're all that way, we just choose to represent ourselves otherwise. We just aren't all that honest with ourselves

Humour me though; What is true wisdom?

I've no such notion of what "truth" is, as I see so many express it so often .... and that's the truth.

When I came here, I came looking for Truth.
I apologize on behalf of all the S&P members for being unable to do what billions have attempted: to serve up "truth" on a silver platter. I feel like such a failure. *hangs head in shame*

All I found were doubt and pluralism.
Herein lies the classic "all or nothing" fallacy. You did not find humor, discourse, comradeship, sharing or anything at all positive? I doubt that (but I doubt everything!).

The proof is in the pudding.

Good luck to you then.

Personally, I don't think looking for truth and ultimate answers is going to get anyone anywhere.

Doubt is a gift. Love it.

Perhaps you were asking of the wrong people....    Seeing the wrong answers....    If you truly seek Truth, or proof, ask for help and guidence....  You will find the proof you need to find Truth....  Alan, I surely hope that you DON'T go, as I rather enjoyed your presence here, looked forward to reading your words....     I too came here to find truth....  As in being here, I can't help but to think that this place did help me MUCH in finding the truth I needed to find....

Ask of the right people, you WILL find what it is you are looking for....

OK, if you CHOOSE not to get to know PEOPLE, yeah, you would say little to nothing....  Is that "Truth" to you....?    Or, perhaps that is "Wisdom"....?    "Selflesness"...?    "Compassion"....?  "Love"....?HHhhmmmmm....

Perhaps I have already spoken to much....  For I do see the non-truth in my words....  Can you see it....?    :shake:

I meant I did not find my personal Truth, which says more about me than any of you.

True, those were found here. But they're also present in the real world, where you can see people and don't have to dissect their words because you can deduct from their expressions and non-verbal communication what they mean.

I did have a great time here, don't get me wrong. I'm just not moving ahead.
