No, no, not fireworks, the band! Does anyone else here listen to these guys? They're relatively new, and actually probably best known for the score to Friday Night Lights..but they have this AMAZING album called The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place that I think Shroomery people would enjoy. It's instrumental rock, a five track CD each track about 10 minutes long, crafted with a classical music kind of sensibility and a wailing guitar...awesome. Five shrooms.

my 2nd favorite "post rock" (quotes b/c I hate labels) band to Mono (from Japan). I got their demo and then first album 4 years ago from etree and was really impressed. GY!BE and Mogwai weren't at the time and now have never really done it for me and weren't as consistently good as EITS. great stuff from an often-overlooked/misunderstood (sub)genre. they're well-known I think in the scene but not overall as well as Mogwai or GY!BE are.

so, yeah, for those who like thoughtful but emotional music and haven't heard them or like Sigur Ros, Mogwai, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, instrumental elements of Radiohead, good rockin' instrumental stuff in general, etc. check out these Texans. see them live if you can.
