I just purchased some agar-agar from health food store and want to do some petri`s..... can someone tell me the recipe for agar powder to water.. on a small scale i just have an ounce of agar... thanks in advance

follow the directions on the package and add tan malt and or peptone

10 grams agar
10 grams malt powder, or 1 tablespoon syrup
500 ml water

Very VERY informative link Anno!!!!!!!..  thanks  I`m going to try the potato water agar recipe:cool:... sounds like it would be a great medium for some of my favorite spore prints . thanks to all responses
