PCing time..necessary to go over 1 hour?

The Mushroom Cultivator and Oss and Oerek suggest 1 hour pressure cooking times. I know there have been posts on this topic before, but I'd really like the opinions of the veterans out there. Is 1 hour at 15 psi really sufficient? Some people on the board PC for 21/2 hours, this seems like overkill to me but at this point I'm just confused.
Thanks for the help guys and gals.

probably not necessary to exceed 1 hour at 15 psi, but 15 minutes extra couldn't hurt. better safe then sorry.

1 hour is fine, 45 mins will work for quart jars, 1 nhour for 1/2 gallon, 1 1/2 hour for gallons. brf cakes require 20 mins

It depends on the size of your PC & the amount of mass - you put in it.
Just like cooking a turkey. Big ones take longer than little ones, to get cooked.
Fill an AA 941 with five or six big ass wbs / rye spawn bags I would would strongly suggest 2 hours PC @ 15 / 18 psi.
More is better, so long as you don't screw up moisture content. PC'ing 30 minutes longer, can save you from contam's later.

Whenever I'm working with grains I let them simmer and soak overnight in order to achieve correct moisture content and germinate any endospores present. Then I go back and PC at 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 mins at 15 psi. I haven't had any contam problems.

i PC my jars for 47 mins at 12psi (alot of people will prob tell you to do it for more and you should, better safe than sorry, I just usually have minimal time to get my PCing done), so far out of over 70 jars only prob 6-7 have contaminted and 1 was saved (using brf/verm as my sub)

Weel, I PCed for 1 1/2 hours last night, that should be enough. The jars look a little dry though. I'm concerned about the moisture content. I simmered for 45 minutes before PCing and the rye looked like and plump when it was done simmering.

MY PC is broken, the seal doesn't seal.
I put the lid on anyways, and PC at 1-2 PSI (yes, one or two PSI) for 90 minutes. Basically, I boil the jars at 212 F for 90 minutes.
check this link: http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/saturated-steam-properties-28_457.html
All you do when you increase pressure is increase HEAT. The jars get HOTTER than boiling at higher PSI. However, 15 PSI is very small. The temperature increase is on the order of 8 degrees F. So, you can boil jars at 212 F, or PC them @ 15psi for 220 F.
