I'm bored so I figured I'd see if Shroomerites/Shroomerettes know their natural sciences

Don't look these up, I want your first instinct... that's the whole point of this thread... well there really is no point but try not to cheat

the 23.5 degree tilt of the earth's axis of rotation along its orbit around the sun is responsible for the change in the Earth's seasons. Woot astronomy class...science rules.

The tilt of the earth has more to do with the seasonal changes than the distance from the sun.

The tidal forces cause waves that in turn generate wind.

Or am I just talking out my ass.........

you are correct on your first guess. your second is wrong though, atmospheric pressure differences cause turbulance (wind).

>>you are correct on your first guess. your second is wrong though, atmospheric pressure differences cause turbulance (wind).

That second question is harder to answer depending how much you read into the question.

The earth's weather is greatly controlled by the ocean currents, the oceans are affected by the moon. So if you were to read into it and start trying to trace it back you could be lead to answer tidal forces, though this doesn't really capture it, it does explain how one could answer that.

However wind or any movement of air is based on pressure differences, so at the most basic mechanism of causing wind in any system is due to pressure differentials, but those have their origins in the ocean currents.
