Yes... while I have never tested this fact, california state law classifies Mycelium as "having psychadelic properties" and "contains a substantial aount of Psilocybin".. Also while reading through one of the many grow reports from somewhere ( i dont remember which one) it was reported that if you grow on edible cakes and they dont pin, then you can just eat the cakes and get the same effect;.

are you sure??
everything ive read says that cultivating mycelium isnt illegal because it doesnt contain any controlled substance.
and if it doesnt then why would it make you trip?

Oh yes!
Just chop a large cake up and mix with some acidic juice like OJ,
then let it sit for half an hour before you strain it through a filter
(coffe filters works allright but some cloth is best as you can
squese out all the liquid). Insert liquid through mouth and you are
ready to go. 
I have done this and it works like a charm.
One good size cake will trip you out real good.
It`s a bit messy but why let an old cake go to waste when you
can trip from it? Don`t throw out you`r old cakes!

Mycelium is also usually full of vermiculite, altough probably not dangerous to eat,
it is probably not that good for your stomach. Oh, and yes it does contain psilocin and psilocybin.

damn...i want to try that now, but all i have are good cakes.
will a cake with a little bit of gray fuzz hurt you any?

i have used grapefruit juice many times. yes it works great. yes you can cut out the contamed areas and use the rest of the cake. verm probably won't hurt you but no use in risking it and it tastes bad. I have posted on this before

i did three cakes today split between me and a friend in cranberry juice and we didn't get past level 1 if even that. What went wrong?

I've done quite a bit of ingesting jars. The hardest I ever tripped was off a 3rd flush jar. I used straight rice so it was basicly one big chunk of mushroom with a couple pieces of rice. I couldn't even move. It doesn't provide a very enjoyable high though.
I've also gotten eager and eaten normal 50/50 jars. They are alright but extremely hard to eat because it tastes so incredibly dry and by the time your getting to the last of the jar you can barely keep it down. I take a small drink of V8 with each bite so I can swallow it, otherwise it's too dry. I've never had any stomach problems at all with them but a friend who tried them has.
I wouldn't advise it unless you are really impatient
I've also found that cranberry juice leaves alot of the psylocybin behind. It you really don't want to ditch the jar, you can
1.Chop up and soak the jar in wood spirits (about $4.00 a gallon). strain out mush
2. Repeat as many times as desired
3. When you've done this a couple times, place all of the liquid left over in a flat dish so it will evaporate quickly. Make sure it is entirely evaporated. It will leave behind a residue. This is primarily psylocybin. WARNING Do not heat liquid to evaporate. Bad idea, trust me.

For it to work well, the cakes must not be just covered in white, but must be fully colonized and ready to fruit. At least wait for the first pins before ingesting.
