Outdoor places to trip in Washington
    #3875118 - 03/06/05 12:13 AM (12 years, 8 months ago)

OK fellow Washington shroomers, I need your input here. I'm gonna be tripping tomorrow, outdoors. I live in Seattle, and would like to know of some really cool nature locations/day hikes in the area. I'm not looking to travel very much further than 1.5 hours or so out of the city.

What I'm envisioning as an ideal location is this: Mountains, big trees, awesome views, and (very important) huge wide open meadows, or just nice big grassy hills...you get the idea.

I was thinking of going to the Arboretum's Japanese tea garden, but there will most likely be a swarm of people there on a Sunday afternoon. I could probably handle the social setting, but would much much rather get out into the great wide open

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Peace

head towards snoqualmie pass and pull off where it looks nice or you could go over to the san juan islands.

I used to hang out around Lake Wenatchee alot. That's a pretty cool place, but I've never tripped there.

You could go to Carceek Park and hike down to the beach or stay up by the grassy hills.

If you go to Magneson make sure it's not on a friday or saturday night, there will be highschool keggers down there. And avoid the sound garden or the navy will detain you. :P

well shit. my tripping buddy flaked out on me yesterday, totally douched the whole day, and put me in an ugly funk of a mood.

Man, I was going to go to Discovery too, since that park is so big and leads down to the beach. Ah well, next weekend. And we might just go to Mt. Rainer national park.

Lame to hear your buddy acted a fool. Perhaps you should wait and fast for like two weeks before you trip. If you want to go crazy that is.

i secound the idea of the snoqualmie area.

also howarth park is a nice play, its in south everett, its on the beach, and has cool trails through the forest, trains run through the area, but they built a bridge of the tracks, which is cool to sit there and watch the trains go by.

Im Canadian, and not very sure of American geography but i would hit up that building on the 50 dollar bill. Just looking at it, knowing its on a bill/has been in several movies would be cool.
