a dead raver

So I was listening to some breaks and dnb last night, and talking to a friend. Apparently last weekend she was at the same place when someone she knew died. It was too hot inside, maybe 100 degrees, as the place was full. When the guy went outside, it was like 30 degrees. I don't know the full details. Someone else said he'd had like 6 Es, a bunch of mushies and some alphabet drugs. I don't know the real details, I don't want to spread rumors but thats the basic gist.
It was a little weird to see that she came back to party the next weekend. I had noticed security was pretty fucking serious at the door about emptying my pockets and doing a good search.
To me, its a little like when when Ripper died. A warning, a reminder that we have to be careful. First, I got nothing against the drugs. However when people use without knowing what they're using and how to use them safely, they creating serious and unnecessary risk. People who spontaneously try whatever will learn by making mistakes, and those mistakes can be very serious.
This isn't why ripper died, Ripper knew his shit. The person last weekend wasn't new to the scene either. People need to realize that the social element to drugs can be dangerous as well. You have to realize that the people around you who may supply you with drugs or encourage you to take drugs are not likely thinking about your personal longterm wellbeing. This includes even your close friends and family. It is important that you always make decisions about drug use yourself, doing diligent research to know the side affects and considering them against the potential gain.
ok, thats the end of my rant. I just say it in hopes that there will be fewer dead ravers next time, thanks.

2 people died at the first rave I went to in 1996...It was an indoor massive with too many people and insufficient ventilation. This is not a new phenomenon. Although it is sad, you gotta realize that people die in OD situations everyday. If I went to the newspaper, read about an overdose, and then posted about it comparing the victim to Ripper, there would be bullshit threads like this one everyday.

I remember that guy, but I lost my net connection awhile back, and I have been only logging on from my parents house, on the weekend etc(to update my growlogs , trades, and just see what the shroomery is up to)
I thought for a second Ripple died while I was away, which would be truly sad indeed.

It saddens me to realize that this thread reminds me of one of my roommate's. Dude'll try ANYthing. I came home late the other night. He was sniffin shit off the kitchen counter. He offers me some and I'm like "No, thanks. I try to stay away from coke". His reply "It's not coke". Me "what is it?". Him "I don't know. I bought some pills from a guy". I got him to give me one and I tried to ID it here (http://www.drugs.com/xq/cfm/pageID_1151/pid_1/qx/index.htm) to no avail. Thankfully (?) he passed out shortly thereafter. I took the rest of the pills and hid them. I spent the rest of the night checking his pulse every 30min or so.

Ripper is a sensitive subject and an unfrotunate incident that the shroomery has beared. The administrators have dealt with the worst of it (besides for the loved ones of Brandon) Of course hinez site makes it impossible for anybody to say what they would of done in that situation but Im sure the shroomery members would of done anything they could to help him if they truly knew the seriouness and reality of the matter. I would assume many thought it was an act/crying wolf or just bullshit and most did actually try calling poison control/911 when the proposition of eating that much drugs was presented to have been consumed. The family members have there right to be angry but calling the other IRC particiants cowards and "cheering him on" is folked. Dont want to dig this misfortune up anymore but I hope story's like this don't repeat themselves.

Ripper(Brandon) died a little over 2 years ago.
I think about him often. A few days ago I was thinking about him and went to his memorial page. His father had posted...talking about the 2nd year anniversary of his son being gone. I cried when I read that post. I'm a father and I can't imagine going through...what he is going through...over the lose of his son. They would have to lock me up in a nut house!!!!
Brandon was a very cool person. He helped alot of people with computer problems...he was very gifted with computer's.
We used to talk about computers, growing mushrooms and gals in pm's. He would get so excited when he met some new gal...he would be like "Road I met this cool gal today. ".
I had saved some of his pm's to me...but they were lost when the Shroomery decided to delete old pm's.
I miss him.
Rest in Peace bro!~
We will talk again...some day.

It's a good reminder for people to just *stop*, if only for a second or two and possibly save a life.
People die everyday, but when it happens needlessly it's kinda stupid.
Right on, blink.
