WTF How Did This Happen?

Alright so I knocked up 4 mycobags about 10 days ago and all were colonizing fine. My friend and I were going crazy that it was actually going fine. So today I go to check them and two of the bags with the most colonization had this fuzzy dark green stuff mixed in with the mycellium. I can't figure out how this happened. I swabbed the inoculation sites with alcohol and flame sterilised the needles before inoculation other than that I have no idea how contams would have gotten in. They are being incuabated in a crawl space but there is a hepa filter patch on the mycobags and that would keep out all the shit. There was accumulations of water in the bottom of all of them but not puddles. Fuck. Can I do anything here? I am goiong to just let them go and see if the mycellium eats the mold but how did this happen?

Contams can still get in. The mycelium WONT eat the mold. WONT happen. I keep jars all the time before tossing..they may fruit in the bags but if you ate something like this itd make you sick...this green/white in the jar looked like this for a month before this picture and a month later you can see the green is still there.
Its hard to say for sure. Perhaps didnt PC for to long? Bags easily bellow air in and out any time you touch them. If you didnt inject in a sterile enough spot and the bags moved alot when injecting, or even after injecting in the spot. The filter patch isnt exactly a HEPA filter..just a filter...
Some contams are normal too...it wouldnt be a shcok for one or two bags to contam. Sucks you only have four to begin with though....toss those two bags though or your putting your others, and the whole grow operation at risk. Contams arent worth it!

It's a losing battle, sorry but you'll need to toss those bags A.S.A.P. Did you obtain the syringe from a vendor, or make it yourself? If you got presealed myco bags the source of contamination is either from your syringe or in a lack of sterile practices during inoculation or lastly contams got in the bag itself somehow.

my guess is the filter on the bag sucks ass. the contams didnt show up untill 10 days after inoc. in my experience contams will show signs of growth before mycelium has a chance to. so yeah learn about the PF TEk and youll be happy.

what? i thought bags from mycobag.com were already already pressure cooked and cleaned prior to you buying them... so if thats the case it should be the syringe

They are, but filter patches aren't 100% protection from contams; especially if they get wet. Anything is possible, so is contamination of a pre-sterilized MycoBag.

If they all contam, the syringe is a possibility. If two make it, its not the syringe.
Since it started long after the myc I would bet 99% that its not the syringe, even if all bags get lost. I do jars all the time. Tons. My first bags..lost 10 of 10 to contams. Bags are a little difficult to work with is all. Gotta be carefull with them.
By the way, mycobags come with persterilized with substrate and empty and kinda sterile, but not really. Wasnt sure if you made them yourself. My guess is..handling of the bags when, and after, injecting.

How does it happen? Faulty sterile culture technique, not always as simple as some might think! I've seen inexperienced growers often recontaminate inadvertantly because of there faulty technique which includes every object involved not just the substrate. GL

i had the same prob with mycobags, i had 2 contam when the bag was like 25% done, i emailed them and told them that out of 6 bags 2 got contamed, and i used the same techniqe for all of them and the same syringe, but anyways they where happy to send me 2 new ones.
