I have a very good microscope, I bought it used, but new it would cost about $1200. But cubensis is cubensis, they all look the same under a microscope don't they?

how could you hybridize a homegenous species such as shrooms? barring some large scientific and genetic tooling. which STP obviousln't doesnt' have. My best guess is that its a good isolate of EQ as anno suggests

Unless there is some new technology making it easier, anyone who successfully hybridizes [with some data/pics/protocol to back it up] would have every scrap of info about where the strain came from, etc.
The most efficient way I can imagine doing hybridization is to dilute out spore solutions, inoculate a bunch of petris [hundreds??], isolate monokaryons, cross-mate every combination [96 well plate maybe??] and then attempt to fruit anything with clamp connections. The difficult thing is to prove that you have a hybrid, and not an accidental dikaryon from a single strain. [aside from RFLP or some shit, I have no idea how you'd prove it]
If you did this successfully, you would have more to say than 'it's a HYBRID'.

Well I subscribed to his newsletter awhile back to attempt to win a syringe of the NJ6 strain. I figured eh why not try to win it so someone could at least play around with it. No luck yet...and actually not even a newsletter.
