Somone told me that red light has no effect on mycelium is this true?

ive also read somewhere that red light will not suffice in initiating pinning, i think it was somewhere on erowid

It is true. They need at least some light in the blue frequency. Even most red lights would probably put out enough white light with blue in it. A light such as one used in developing though wouldnt have an affect.

Correct - thus, for the true die-hard perfectionist, using a red right under darkness would be the ideal way of observing progress of mycelium during incubation/colonization.
